Sherry Ferraiolo

  • Sherry Ferraiolo  (alto, tenor, and baritone saxophones) began her music education in elementary school playing the trombone.  After raising her family and retiring from her first career in management and software technology, the saxophone became an integral part of her daily life.  Sherry holds degrees in Liberal Arts and Computer Information Systems.  In addition to Lady Blue,  she is a member of the Bay Big Band, One More Once Jazz Ensemble, The Symphonic Band of Bay Shore Brightwaters, Gold Coast Jazz Band,  Joe D’s Dixieland Band and the City Stars Orchestra.  Sherry feels blessed and gives thanks to the many talented musicians who continuously inspire her and to the audiences who keep live music alive.

  • Mary Beth Finger  (alto, tenor and baritone saxophones) currently teaches general music and chorus at Bay Shore Middle School.  Her love of music began at an early age with piano and clarinet lessons, and she started to play the saxophone in high school.  Mary Beth earned her Bachelors Degree in Music Education from SUNY Fredonia where she studied voice.  She later completed her Masters Degree in Music Education from the Aaron Copeland School of Music at CUNY Queens College.  Audiences can most often find Mary Beth performing in various vocal/choral venues across Long Island; however, she is thoroughly enjoying performing with Lady Blue and expanding her instrumental repertoire.

  • Lynda Maniscalco (soprano and alto saxophones) has loved playing saxophone since she began in 5th grade and is currently a middle school band director in the East Islip School District. Lynda also teaches in the summer music program in the Northport/East Northport School District. Teaching music was a drastic career change for Lynda, who worked as an actuary for several years after receiving a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics from Susquehanna University. Following her passion for music, Lynda enthusiastically returned to school and completed her Masters Degree in Music Education at Long Island University, C.W. Post. She teaches privately and enjoys other activities such as running and cycling.​

  • Laurette Roddin (alto and tenor saxophones) is a music educator in the Cold Spring Harbor School District who actively performs as a soloist and chamber musician. She has participated in chamber music competitions held by the North American Saxophone Alliance (semi-finalist), Coltman Chamber Music (finalist), and the Music Teachers National Association (state and regional rounds). Laurette holds degrees in music education, music performance, and music business from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, and currently holds All But Dissertation (ABD) status in a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from The University of Oklahoma. She maintains an active private studio with students of all levels. In addition to music, Laurette enjoys rock climbing and traveling.

Nicki Boyle

  • Nicki Boyle (alto and tenor saxophones) has been in love with music since she picked up her first pair of drumsticks in third grade. Currently, she is an elementary band director in the Massapequa School District.  She holds two Bachelors in Music Education and Music Performance from Crane School of Music, SUNY Potsdam. She received her Masters in Music Performance from University of Oklahoma. Though her degrees are on clarinet, she performs frequently as a woodwind doubler for musicals at various theatres and school districts all over the island. She has taught the Sunrisers Drum & Bugle Corps and woodwinds for multiple high school marching bands. Outside of music, she loves spending time with her dog and playing volleyball. She is thrilled to be playing with Lady Blue and expanding on her saxophone quartet skills!

Tamara Edwards-Wilson

  • Tamara Edwards-Wilson (Alto and Tenor saxophones) grew up in Michigan and began playing tenor saxophone in the 5th grade band.  While growing up she was inspired by her first saxophone teacher, Scott Brady, to continue pursuing her passion for performing music and decided to study music education at New York University.  There she studied saxophone with Tim Ruedeman and Paul Cohen, and performed with the NYU Saxophone Quartet, Concert Band, Community Orchestra.  She also sang with the NYU Choral Arts Society and played percussion in various opera and orchestral settings.  During a summer job at Interlochen Center for the Arts back home in Michigan, Tamara broadened her saxophone studies under Tim McAllister.  After earning her Bachelor’s degree from NYU, she began teaching and then completed her Masters in Wind Conducting under Peter Boonshaft at Hofstra University.  Currently, she is the Concert Band and Jazz Band director at Westbury Middle School and has been teaching since 2006.

Chelsea Dorner - Emeritus 

  • ​(Alto and Tenor saxophones) has taught elementary band, general music and chorus in the Sachem School District.  She taught AP Music Theory and was the Chairperson for Music at Sachem.  She has an Undergraduate Degree from the College of Saint Rose in Music Education where she studied saxophone under Paul Evoskevich. She completed her Masters Degree in Music Education from the Aaron Copeland School of Music at CUNY Queens College. Before becoming a member of the Lady Blue Saxophone Quartet, Chelsea spent several years playing with the College of Saint Rose Saxophone Quartet, as well as performing in various Wind Ensembles in the greater New York area. Chelsea now resides in Albany, New York with her beautiful family.  Lady Blue looks forward to her visits and return engagements with us.
